How may we help you?

App Nap can negatively affect some software and cause response problems on some devices. This is because the OS appears to see the app as ‘idle’ since it is hidden from view.

Open a Finder window, select Applications, right-click on an app, and select Get Info. Under General, select Prevent App Nap.

If you don't see the Prevent App Nap option, it means this app isn't App Nap-aware and isn't affected by it.

Disable App Nap systemwide: Launch Terminal and enter defaults write NSGlobalDomain NSAppSleepDisabled -bool YES.
