Recording with AuraVerb

If you own Zen Go SC, please follow the steps below: 


A) Record directly with AuraVerb


1. Connect the device to your computer and open Zen Go's software control panel. 

2. Plug a microphone or an instrument into A1 (Preamp1). 

3. Insert AuraVerb on Preamp 1's AFX tab: 

4. Open your DAW and create an audio track so you can record the vocal/instrument in your DAW. 


NOTE: Please, have in mind that when you record, AuraVerb will be printed on your vocal and you will not be able to remove it from the track in the future. 


B) Send a signal from your DAW to your device's software control panel, process it with AuraVerb and print it in your DAW. 


1. Open your DAW and choose which track you would like to run through AuraVerb then set the track's Output to 3/4.  

2. Go to your device's software control panel and select Computer play 3 and Computer play 4: 

3. Click on "AuraVerb" as shown in the picture below (marked with 1).

4. The AuraVerb window will pop up. Make sure you have "3" and "4" as it's shown below.

5. Use the "send" knobs and the return fader in order to engage AuraVerb.
6. Open your DAW, create a new track and set it's input to be "Input 3/4". 

7. Record your processed track in your DAW. 


C) Use the AuraVerb window channel in order to process and record the signals in your DAW. 


1. Connect the device to your computer and open Zen Go's software control panel. 

2. Open your DAW and choose which track you would like to run through AuraVerb and select the track's Output to 3/4. If you would like to send more than 1 stereo track, please, have in mind that you have the option to set the track's Output's to 5/6 and 7/8. 

3. Go to your device's software control panel and select Computer play 3,4,5,6,7,8 as shown in the picture below: 

4. Open "AuraVerb" from the tab, marked in red below:

5. Adjust how much reverb you would like to receive by adjusting the "send" knob under each sent track from 3-8. 

6. Open your DAW, create new tracks and set your inputs to be "Input 3/4", "Input 5/6", "Input 7/8". 

7. Record the processed signal. 


D) Use AuraVerb to run your mix through it. 


1. Open your Zen Go's Control Panel and go to "DAW I/O" tab. 

2. Switch your first 2 channels to "LOOPBACK HP 1/MON" 1 and 2:


3. Insert AuraVerb as an individual effect and adjust the settings to both channels.  

 

4. Open your DAW, create a new track, select your inputs to 1/2 and record the processed signal.

If you are a user owning a device with the advanced routing matrix, please follow the instructions below.

NOTE: Please, have in mind that AuraVerb is only available for one of your mixers, which is Mixer1: 

 A) If you would like to record a signal with AuraVerb on (If your device has Mic/Hi-Z/Line inputs): 


1. Plug a microphone or an instrument to one of your inputs. 

2. Open your device's software routing panel. 

Drag and drop the mic preamp that you want to run through AuraVerb on Mixer 1. Picture attached with example in it here: 

3. Go to "Mixer" tab (marked in red in the picture below) and select Mixer 1: 

4. Adjust your Reverb's settings and then engage the AuraVerb to the channel you would like to have it on by turning the "send" knob. For example, as shown in the image, if I would like to engage AuraVerb on channel 5 - "5 AURA" - (marked in yellow), then I will turn the "send" knob to the right:

5. Go to the device's routing panel once again. Drag and drop MIX1 L/R to:

- "TB REC 1 and TB REC 2" as shown in the image below in order to have the possibility to record it in your DAW. (IF YOU USE TB CONNECTION) 

- "USB REC 1 and USB REC 2" to record the signal in your DAW (IF YOU USE USB CONNECTION)

6. Open your DAW, create a new track and select its inputs to be Input 1 and Input 2. Record the track in your DAW. 


NOTE: Please, have in mind that you will record all sent channels in one stereo track that way. If you would like to have all sent signals separated, adjust the AuraVerb settings with the "send" knob individually on every sent stereo track. 


B) If you would like to record a signal with AuraVerb on (If your device has only Line Ins): 


1. Route your external preamps to your device's Line Ins. 

2. Open your device's software routing panel. 

Drag and drop your Line Ins that receive signal from the external preamp, to Mixer 1. Picture attached with example in it here: 

 Then Route MIX1 L/R to Monitor in order to hear the differences you make while adjusting the settings in AuraVerb.


3. Go to "Mixer" tab (marked in red in the picture below) and select Mixer 1: 

4. Adjust your Reverb's settings and then engage the AuraVerb to the channel you would like to have it on by turning the "send" knob (marked in red in the picture below):

5. Go to the device's routing panel once again. Drag and drop MIX1 L/R to:

- "TB REC 1 and TB REC 2" as shown in the image below in order to have the possibility to record it in your DAW.

- "USB REC 1 and USB REC 2" to record the signal in your DAW (IF YOU USE USB CONNECTION)


6. Open your DAW, create a new track and select its inputs to be Input 1 and Input 2. Record the track in your DAW. 


NOTE: Please, have in mind that you will record all sent channels in one stereo track that way. If you would like to have all sent signals separated, adjust the AuraVerb settings with the "send" knob individually on every sent stereo track. 


C) If you would like to run a signal through AuraVerb from your DAW:


1. Open your DAW and route the signals, you would like to run through AuraVerb, to Output, different from 1/2, since Output 1/2 is where the Master track is sent to.

2. Open your device's software control panel. 

-If you use TB connection, drag the TB PLAY channels that receive signal from your DAW, and drop them to "Mix CH1". 

-If you use USB connection, drag the USB PLAY channels that receive signal from your DAW, and drop them to "Mix CH1".


Then Route MIX1 L/R to Monitor in order to hear the differences you make while adjusting the settings in Auraverb. 


3. Adjust the AuraVerb's settings by taste. Use the "send" knobs in order to engage AuraVerb on the channels you would like to have it on. 


4. Go to the device's routing panel once again. Drag and drop MIX1 L/R to:

- "TB REC 1 and TB REC 2" as shown in the image below in order to have the possibility to record it in your DAW.

- "USB REC 1 and USB REC 2" to record the signal in your DAW (IF YOU USE USB CONNECTION)


5. Open your DAW, create a new track and select its inputs to be Input 1 and Input 2. Record the track in your DAW. 


NOTE: Please, have in mind that you will record all sent channels in one stereo track that way. If you would like to have all sent signals separated, adjust the AuraVerb settings with the "send" knob individually on every sent stereo track. 


D) If you would like to run your Master track through AuraVerb: 


1. Open your device's routing panel. 

- If you use TB connection, drag and drop TB PLAY 1 and TB PLAY 2 to MIX CH1. (picture attached below): 

- If you use USB connection, drag and drop USB PLAY 1 and USB PLAY 2 to MIX CH1. 


Drag and drop MIX CH1 to "Monitor" section in order to hear the changes you make with the Verb. 


2. Open your Mixer1 and adjust the AuraVerb's settings and sends by taste. 

3. Drag and drop MIX1 L/R to: 

-TB REC 3 and TB REC 4 (if you use TB connection);

-USB REC 3 and USB REC 4 (if you use USB connection). 


4. Open your DAW, create a new track. Select your Input on this track to Input3/4. 

5. Engage Direct Monitoring Mode in order to avoid loopback. 

6. Record the signal.
