Encountering difficulty in locating your Amari device within the Antelope Launcher on an M1 or M2 Mac OS system can be frustrating. However, there's a straightforward workaround to address this issue which can be helpful in certain situations. 

Keep in mind that the workaround described in the article is not applicable for every system and some users might still experience connectivity issues even after following the steps below.  


Step 1: Uninstall the Unified Driver


1. Access the Antelope Launcher's System tab

2. Locate the currently installed Unified driver and click the "Uninstall" button next to it.




Step 2: Install Manager Server Version 1.8.3 

1. Expand the Manager Server drop-down menu within the Antelope Launcher's System tab.

2. Select version 1.8.3 from the options provided.

3. Click "Install" to initiate the installation process.



Step 3: Install Unified Driver Version 4.2.0 

1. Expand the Unified driver drop-down menu.

2. Select version 4.2.0 from the available options.

3. Click "Install" to commence the installation.


During the installation of the older driver (4.2.0), you may encounter a prompt requesting permission to allow the "Elektrosfera" system extension in Privacy & Security settings. Follow the prompt to grant permission and restart your computer if prompted. 


If you are not sure how to allow the driver, please check the detailed instructions for Ventura and Sonoma or for older versions of Mac OS.


If a prompt to allow the extension doesn't appear, navigate to Privacy & Security and allow the extension manually. A restart will be required. 


If there is no extension to be allowed or when trying to allow it, you get the following message:

Once the older driver is successfully installed and the system extension is permitted, your Amari device should now be visible within the Antelope Launcher.

In the event that the Unified driver ceases to function after a computer reboot, you can quickly restore its functionality by following these steps:

1. Navigate to Audio MIDI Setup.

2. Verify the driver status:

- If the driver is functioning correctly, it will be displayed as "Amari USB."

- If the driver is not functioning, it will be displayed as "Amari Playback."

3. If the driver is not functioning, simply unplug your Amari device from the USB port and then reconnect it.
